2003 Patent issued for Universal Tool for Removal/Retrieval Of Overhead Mounted Smoke and Heat Detectors. Company introduces 100% non-flammable aerosol test gas.

2004  Jack Ackerman joins the HSI family as President and CEO.  HSI moves to new location, combining all warehouse and office facilities in Elk Grove Village, IL.

2005  HSI announces the expansion of their Versa-Tools line of professional equipment.  New additions to the line include; VT-ED8, VT-ED16 and VT-Complete, Enclosed Delivery Tool kits and VT-OD Open Delivery Tool Kit.  The Heat Detector Tester line of products was also expanded with the introduction of the VT-Adapter, designed to adapter the standard heat detector kit to the Versa-Tools extension poles systems.  Resulting in the introduction of VT-694, VT-694-8 and VT-694-16 Heat Detector Tester Kits and offering an economical and practical method of testing both smoke and heat detectors, the VT-ED8H and VT-ED16H were introduced.  Additionally, HSI introduces the Spike Block and Theon Ground Transient Termination products.  This revolutionary electrical component closes the final entry point for errant electrical impulse known to be the cause of most false alarms and system malfunctions'.  The Spike Block & Theon are announced in the Fire & Security industries but promises to cross into any and all electrical systems industries.

2006 HSI redesigned and re-introduces the revolutionary VT-1 Enclosed Delivery Test Head.  The redesign created a larger enclosure with cut-out plugs to enable the unit to address restricting conduit, detector guards and the new, larger detectors now available in the Fire Safety industry. 

2007 Medinah Partners, LLC, parent of HSI Fire & Safety Group, LLC announces today the appointment of the new General Manager and the new Sales and Distribution Manager of its HSI Fire & Safety division.  Mr. Jack Ackerman, a member of the Medinah Partners, has stepped down as President of HSI Fire & Safety Group so that he may pursue strategic planning and acquisitions for Medinah Partners’.  Mr. Ackerman will continue to be involved in the growth and expansion of HSI through his ownership, special projects and product development.  Mrs. Margaret Feiter has been appointed as the General Manager of HSI Fire & Safety Group.  Mrs. Feiter joined the HSI team 5 years ago as the Customer Service Manager.  With this promotion she will be responsible for the day to day operations of this rapidly growing company.  As General Manager, Mrs. Feiter will continue the Medinah Partners’ corporate vision of excellence in both, products and service.   Additionally, the Medinah Partners’ are proud to announce that Mr. James O’Brien has joined the HSI Fire & Safety Group team as the new Sales and Distribution Manager.  Mr. O’Brien brings nearly 20 years of Sales experience and over 10 years of representative and management experience in the OEM manufacturing arenas.
